What To Expect
When you retain CILF we will:
- Request contact information in accordance with the Law Society of Ontario’s by-laws that obligate law firms to know their clients before providing any legal advice or services.
- Provide you with a quote for legal services.
- Provide an initial consultation and preliminary strategy devised by our lawyers.
- Send a Retainer Agreement setting out the services CILF will provide and detailing the terms of the Agreement, including estimated fees and disbursements and terms of payment.
- Ask you to sign a Privacy Agreement authorizing CILF to only disclose your personal information related to your application to specific individuals and government offices.
- Send initial instructions detailing the information and documentation required to start preparing your application.
- Review your information and documentation and speak to you regarding specific issues that are unique to your application.
- Assign a lawyer who will work closely with a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant to ensure your application is prepared in accordance with the law and in a timely manner.
- Provide updates on the progress of preparing your application and milestones with respect to the processing of your application.
- Provide detailed instructions throughout your application process, and customize the legal advice provided to meet your personal and business objectives.
- Be available to speak to you to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding the status of your application.
